Daniel B. Levin is an Emmy Award-winning director, executive producer, and showrunner whose work spans documentaries, narrative films, and commercial campaigns. His films have premiered at Sundance, Tribeca, Doc NYC, and other film festivals worldwide.
Levin recently won an Emmy Award and a Webby for "A Time to Yell: More Than a Statue", which he directed and executive produced. He also served as showrunner, director, and executive producer of the eight-part documentary series "UNINTERRUPTED: The Real Stories of Basketball", executive produced by LeBron James, which premiered on VICE TV in 2024. He also directed the Showtime documentary "Kevin Garnett: Anything Is Possible", which premiered at Doc NYC and is now streaming on Paramount+.
Levin also executive produced "I Promise", alongside LeBron James, helping bring the acclaimed documentary to audiences following its premiere at the 2021 Tribeca Festival.
His television and documentary credits include "Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story" (executive produced by Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter) and "Inside the FBI: New York" (executive produced by Dick Wolf). His work also includes the award-winning films and series "Brick City" (Peabody Award), "Chicagoland", "Love Child", and "Class Divide".
Beyond documentary filmmaking, Levin has directed and photographed global campaigns for leading brands including Google, Nike, Heineken, Visa, Coach, Smart Car, and Supreme.
Levin made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed documentary 'CAPTURED" in 2008. The film became a New York cult classic and launched a career that has spanned award-winning documentaries, television, and branded storytelling. A third-generation filmmaker and graduate of Emerson College, he began his career working alongside his father, acclaimed filmmaker Marc Levin, at Blowback Productions and Brick City TV.
